Norman and his friends Carmelo, Lucky and Freddy are a peculiar “Therapy Quartet”. All year round, thanks to their special ways, they help hundreds of children who regularly attend the free Donkey Assisted Therapy sessions. Today marked this season´s last session and they have celebrated playfighting and running freely around the riding arena.

The Foal born on mother's day reaches its first moth at El Refugio del Burrito.

Her mother, Nana, had been taken into care by this charity due to her bad health after having had 16 different owners.

Last 3rd of may, Sunday, Spain´s Mother's Day, Nana from El Refugio del Burrito gave birth unexpectedly to a beautiful foal. Nana had been taken into care six months earlier due to her physical condition, with serious hoof problems that prevented her from walking properly. Nothing could lead her dedicated carers nor the vets to think she could be carrying a life inside her.

Nana, one of the donkeys from El Refugio del Burrito unexpectedly gave birth to a beautiful foal on the early hours of Sunday 3rd May, Spain's Mother's Day.

It was around 8 in the morning when the grooms at El Refugio del Burrito in Fuente de Piedra, Málaga, found a new donkey in one of the paddocks. Puzzled at this finding, because they had not been informed of any new arrivals, especially of such a young looking donkey, they decided to call upon the Farm Manager who shortly after confirmed it was a new born female foal. Nobody even suspected her mum, Nana, was pregnant.
