Yesterday, 30th March 2011, at El Refugio del Burrito, a Spanish Registered Charity that mainly concerned with the welfare of donkeys and mules, the trimming season started ahead of schedule because of Catalina’s case. After her, most of the donkeys will undergo this peculiar hairdressing sessions to make them ready for the scorching Spanish summer.

Carlitos makes number seven in the list of donkeys rescued by Spanish Charity El Refugio del Burrito, as a direct consequence of the credit crunch in Spain.
Carlitos is a really cute donkey that has been recently rescued at Doña Rosa, in the Spanish Region of Extremadura.
His story has a lot to do with the financial crisis we are currently going through, and unfortunately, it is similar to the story of many other donkeys that are also being affected by these hard times.

El Refugio del Burrito, a Spanish Registered Charity dedicated mainly to the welfare of donkeys and mules in this country, has carried out the trimming of the olive trees which ornate their Fuente de Piedra (Málaga) farm. This will provide the donkeys with a different and nutritious snack, which also sparkles their interest as well as maintaining the aesthetics of the farm and assuring an ordered tree growth.
Animal charities join forces and win battle to ban illegal use of donkeys at Spanish festival
El Refugio del Burrito, joined forces with local animal welfare associations Solúcar, PACMA and Ecologistas en Acción and have finally won the battle to stop cruelty against donkeys at The Feria de la Manzanilla, a Festival in Southern Spain, by having the Council ban the use of animals on the beach.
Donkey brutally murdered in Spain shocks charity
A donkey has been brutally murdered by teenagers in the village of Torreorgaz in the Spanish region of Extremadura. The news has shocked El Refugio del Burrito who now plans to take full legal action against the culprits.
El Refugio del Burrito, based in Fuente de Piedra is a Spanish registered charity dedicated to the care and protection of donkeys and mules.
