Toto

Toto

Toto was rescued in France and re-homed in our sanctuary in Fuente de Piedra in 2003, when he was one year old.

Toto is a very smart and lively donkey with huge ears. He is one of the donkeys of our riding therapy unit for children with special needs.

Such a Gentledonk!

Toto has come a long way since he was first rescued in France when he was just a one year old stubborn donkey. He has become such a gorgeous gentledonk! Not only is he a “looker” who attracts a lot of attention from visitors, but he’s also a clever and dedicated donkey. He trained as a Donkey Assisted Riding Therapy Donkey, and he is very good, especially with older children, as he is very tall and sturdy. He is now enjoying a break in these activities, but can’t wait to be back helping Children with Special Needs!

Bohemian Charm

Toto hasn’t really got a chance to miss his native France with all this rain, cold weather and green hills. He really loves the rain, which enhances his bohemian character. He likes walking along the paddock, alongside his good friend snooty, as if musing poems yet to be written or some beautiful painting going through his mind… He certainly has that bohemian air around him, which makes him irresistible to our most sensitive visitors…

Toto, one of the Backstreet Boys!

Toto and Snooty: The Backstreet boys

Toto, one of our Riding Therapy trained donkeys, is glad winter is over, as this means he can exercise around his spacious paddock with his good friend Snooty. Both of them are known as “The Backstreet Boys”. They have earned the nickname thanks to the location of their paddock, at the very back of our Sanctuary, rather than their singing or dancing skills. Toto is a young, strong donkey who cannot wait to start his Riding Therapy duties again, as he enjoys being with the children nearly as much as he does playing with his friend Snooty.
